I was lucky enough to meet with nutritionist Lyssie at the iVillage table at Self Magazine’s workout in the park. For the most part, since I have given up fast food, I am doing really well. She explained that every meal should have lean protein and complex carbs. She also said sometimes the smallest substitution can make a difference in how you feel throughout the day.
We reviewed my breakfast (which I usually have to get at Dunkin, so I get a blueberry muffin with a little bit of butter). I knew that wasn’t a great choice, but I didn’t think it was terrible either. Lyssie suggested that I try one of the new egg white flats. So this morning, open for trying new things, I got the veggie one. Not only did I not start to drag around 11am, but it was delish and I was full until lunch time!
Exciting news! Lyssie also just shared some tips with me via email that I will be sharing with all of you very soon! Stay tuned!
What is the best substitution you have made lately in an effort to eat better and live healthier?! Love you all! xoxo

I’ve just decided to get rid of popcorn. no substitutes there…
Adding eggs to my morning meal did wonders for me too. Made what I ate the rest of the day more sensible as well, because I didn’t crash and get a quick-energy craving.
I love icecream, especially when in the form of chocolate malts and shakes. I made the mistake of trying McDonald’s new Mocha Frappe a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure if my boyfriend wasn’t helping to keep me in check I would have one every day. Instead, I go to Starbucks and get a Java Chip Frappuccino light. Also delicious and my waistline appreciates it (though it’s not an every day thing :] ).
Glad you liked the pic of the guy in hot pink shorts, lol!
Well I have not really been making any substitutions, I have been trying to not snack as much at night though!
Love ya girl!!!
