True Blood’s Rutina Wesley’s Killer Arms

I don’t know if anyone watches True Blood, but Rutina Wesley plays Tara Thorton on the show and rocks some holy guns. Per my usual celebrity body obsessed self, I had to know how she got those.

In an interview with Fitness Magazine, Rutina said that her workouts involve a mix of cardio and strenght training three times per week. Coming from a background in dance, she also squeezes in time for yoga. The best part of her routine? Her arm workout is not only achievable, but you can do it at home!!

What she does: 30-20-10 Push up circuit

How she does it: Rutina Told Fitness Magazine  “About every other day, I do a special 30-20-10 push-up circuit: 30 push-ups and 30 tricep dips, then 20 of each, then 10 of each.”

I’m going to try it this week. It seems intense but I love the end result!!

I’m so glad you posted this! I love TB and I looove her character and I’ve always wondered how she got those amazing arms. I can totally do this.

(I think she may also be blessed with some amazing genes too though- even with that tough workout!)

I read that interview! The workout seems killer but I can definitely see it giving results. I might try it although there will probably be lots of breaks and girl push ups for awhile. :P

Wow, she does have killer arms. Thanks so much for posting this because I have been wanting to amp up my upper body routine. :) I hope school is going good for you dear.

That sort of sounds like what I do! I stick to push-ups, tricep dips, and bicep curls because I do everything at my house (no weights).

And girl don’t worry about not commenting- life gets busy!!

egads, i need to start doing some upper body exercises. are you supposed to do strength training before, or after your cardio? or does it matter? :)

I don’t watch the show, but I dig her arms!!!

Also, I had to take FIVE years of a foreign language at my UC in order to complete my English degree. Five years = five semesters at college, but I passed out of four from HS. Either way, that’s how I ended up with a double major in English and French :) Just kept going with the language! Maybe you’ll pick up the same enthusiasm?? :)
