With the recent red carpet roll-out, celebrity trainer Jarett Del Bene shared his tips for getting celebs red carpet ready with US Weekly! Jarett’s clients have included Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Lindsay Lohan, and Nina Dobrev. (Photo source)

Fire up the cardio
Jarett normally has his clients do an hour of cardio, three times per week. During the awards season, he increases their workout by one or two additional hours each week.

Shock the body
If you want to get fast results, Jarett says you have to “shock the body” by changing up your routine. During awards season, he makes sure the clients cardio workouts vary through the week: “One day we’ll do a kickboxing session, the next day we’ll go running or for a hike in the hills, and then the next day we’ll do some biometric training, like jump squats, box jumps, agility drills with cones.”

Limit Carbs
Jarett does not recommend eliminated carbs, but does recommend eliminating them completely. His suggestion? Eat the heaviest carbs in the morning, a shake for lunch, fruit for a snack, and fish with brown rice and veggies for dinner.

I always laugh a little bit when I see one of the Hills starts exercising. I’m sure I should give them credit but getting in shape for a dress just doesn’t feel like a good reason to me.

I love this post! Sadly, I did watch The Hills when it was on MTV and actually own one of the seasons… so I’m sort of a big fan. :) haha

I would love to have a personal trainer. I’m all about mixing it up and “shocking the body” but I’m not creative enough to find new workouts that I like

I agree with the workout, but I don’t agree with him eliminating all carbs. That’s not ideal. We shouldn’t eliminate one of the major food groups. Most importantly carbs are the major nutrient for our brain.
