As promised in the Dove review, here are Kacy Duke’s top tips for Summer Fitness!
Kacy Duke, fitness expert to celebrities including Gwen Stefani and Mary J. Blige, knows that feeling physically fit and confident in your body make you look great! Summer is in full swing, so Kacy is sharing her top fitness and lifestyle tips to feel confident and fit in your favorite summer fashions.
Live Fit:
- Creating a strong and fit body is an evolution, not a revolution! It takes time and commitment, so start exercising slowly and establish realistic monthly goals.
- Wear breathable cotton clothing while working out because it is comfortable and allows for easy bending, stretching and moving. Kacy prefers sleeveless tops to keep cool in the summer heat. For sleeveless ready confidence, she chooses Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth anti-perspirant/deodorant, which minimizes the look and feel of underarm hair over time to help women feel stubble free for longer. With Dove ¼ moisturtizers, it cares for delivate underarm skin while providing 24-hour odor and wetness protection.
Seek New Scenery:
- Think about where you will be on vacation and take advantage of the new fitness challenges the local terrain presents.
- At the beach? Apply sunscreen and take your morning walk through the sand; it provides strong resistance to strengthen leg muscles.
- Exploring a city? Track walked steps with a pedometer to help reach doctor-recommended 10,000 per day.
- In the mountains? Pack your hiking boots and discover local trails; the terrain provides great cardiovascular exercise and higher elevations provides for lung capacity and strength.
Keep It Up (Even on Vacation!):
Sometimes a break in your routine is just what you need to keep your fitness plan feeling fresh. It’s actually pretty easy to stay active and have fun on vacation. Return home feeling refreshed and recharged by following these enjoyable, vacation-friendly fit tips.
- Play! Many of the best warm-weather vacation activities – swimming, water-skiing, snorkeling and playing in the waves – actually burn a ton of calories so dive in!
- Take an active tour of the sights; look for a local walking tour or ask your hotel can set you up with a bike rental. Moving your body all day, even at a moderate pace, will make a difference.
- If you decide to have a lazy day, that’s okay! Be sure to walk to dinner or dance the night away come sunset.
Sassy Stay-cation:
- Staying at home during vacation this year? No problem! Check out your state’s official website to find a forest preserve or lake in close driving distance where you can enjoy a challenging work out on new terrain.
- Give your body, soul and home a makeover. Housework burns calories, so clear out the clutter and donate to those in need.
- Start your morning with a brisk power walk to a cute neighborhood café. Treat yourself to an iced latte or tea – after all, you are on vacation!

oh man, i try so hard to get my exercise in on vacation, but my vacations usually mean going to Canada for 3 weeks to visit the family. as much as i love seeing everyone, this requires a lot of eating – not a lot of running :p
