Lie on your side with your knees bend (keeping your hips stacked). Wrap your bottom arm around your waist and place your opposite hand on the floor in front of you, fingers facing toward the same direction that your body is facing. Straighten your arm to push up off of the floor, without locking the elbow. Lower a few inches and repeat.

Start in the pike position with your hands slightly forward of the body, legs straight and hips to the ceiling. Bend your elbows as you “dive” forward bringing your head and chest towards the floor until your torso is lifted with your hips still off of the floor. Reverse.

Follow the traditional pushup directions but keeping your feet on a ball instead of on the ground.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!

What is your favorite way to do push-ups?

For the longest time, I was intimidated by any push up whatsoever. In fact, it goes all the way back to the President’s fitness test in elementary P.E. (so a very very long time). :)

A friend turned me on to the 100 push ups program which is available on the web or as an iPhone app. After merely weeks, I was busting out quality, standard push-ups. I’ve gone from being barely able to do a couple to cranking out several sets – totaling 80-100 a day. With practice, anything is possible.

That triceps one arm pushup looks intense! I may have to give those a shot sometime. And the lady pushup…simply hysterical!

I wish that I could do pushups. Unfortunately I have tendinitis in my wrist and it makes it REALLY hard to put any weight on it. That means no pushups and some yoga moves are a no-no.

HAAA – didn’t see the bra coming, nice.

I like the balance ball push up – you look like a total moron but it’s a good one.

Oh my gosh, I’m such a weakling! Right now I can only manage a few good girly push-ups. But when I was in better shape, I really liked using the workout ball.
