5 Things You Can Do Today to Feel Great

by Jennifer on February 17, 2011

Stand up every hour. Even if it means setting a timer on your phone or at your desk, make sure that you are getting up at least once every hour. My favorite move is to take one phone call per hour standing up.

Drink water. Guzzle it all day and watch your energy levels (and skin) flourish!

Stretch it out. Whether it be just doing a few moves before bed, taking a yoga class, or rolling it out on a foam roller, you will feel amazing if you just spend at least 5 minutes today showing your muscles some TLC.

Cross something off your to-do list. I said it; get something done. Do you ever regret being productive? I don’t know about you but I always feel my best after I have accomplished pesky tasks. (Check out this time management series for tips).

Sleep. I am not talking 4-6 hours, I am talking a full 8 hours of sheep-counting-pillow-loving-sleep. (Click here for sleep better tips).

What is your go-to feel great move?

I agree. I try to stand up and walk for 1 minute every hour. It makes you feel energized and awake. Good list

Crossing things off a to-do list is my fastest way to improve my mood… you’re right, I never regret feeling productive! Also, a walk around Homegoods really brightens my day. :)

Love all of these. So good. I definitely like the cross something off your to-do list. Thats my mission today. Must make it happen.

I also like to take my dog for a walk, even if its a short one, getting outside (if its nice out) is definitely a good thing for me, and the pup!

Wait till you have kiddos! You never know when you will get a full nights rest. Unfortunately I haven’t the last three days :( I have a sick little girl. But great advice, because of no sleep, getting up once an hour and drinking lots and lots of water will only help! :)

I always forget to get up and move around ha. They say to do that on an airplane a lot. Which I happen to do, I’m so ADD on planes because it’s super cramped. Good tips :)

Great tips! I try to do all these things every day-sleep is the worst for me! Because I meet with clients for a “50 minute hour”, I have 10 minutes to grab other files, make copies, and go the bathroom. That gets me up and moving!

How about doing something productive around your house like a load of laundry, a quick vacuum or cleaning out your purse? None of these things are difficult but I always push them off until the end of the weekend. In college, Sunday used to be reserved for studying and now it’s chore day–I don’t know which is worse!

I am such a water guzzler. I love it and so does my skin!
Unfortunately I’m also a sitter. I can spend 3 hours+ on the computer a day and I really want to change that. Standing up every hour is the first step – thanks! :-D

Water and downward dog! It’s not always possible to do downward dog, but I try to sneak it in whenever I can when I’m tired or sore!
