Banana Brulee: A Healthy Dessert!

by Jennifer on March 31, 2011

I was craving Creme Brulee the other night, but was short the ingredients (and trying to short myself the calories) so I came up with this instead. Most of my dessert attempts are a fail, but this was a MAJOR success.

Banana Brulee Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon of soy milk
  • Pinch of sugar

Directions:

  • In a blender/food processor, blend 1 banana with a tablespoon of soy milk.
  • Pour into a small ramekin and sprinkle sugar over top.
  • Turn the oven to “broil” and put your ramekin on a baking sheet as close to the flame as you can get.
  • Broil for 3 minutes, remove from oven, and let sit for 3-5 minutes.
  • Enjoy!!

Do you like Creme Brulee? What is your favorite healthy dessert?

this is such a great idea! I absolutely love creme brulee, and i’ve been trying to figure out a way to do it. I also love cheesecake, and I’m trying to work out a healthier recipe for that as well.

Love this! Individual portion & healthy? Score on both fronts! The other day I did a banana soft serve with a little cocoa powder & sunflower butter swirled in & that was mighty tasty, too!

Sounds awesome! I’ll have to try out your recipe! My favorite dessert is strawberry shortcake- I just tell myself that the healthy strawberries outweigh the shortcake ;-)

I LOVE strawberry shortcake – my mom makes whole wheat biscuits and unsweetened berries and it is perfect and doesn’t add any sugar!

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a Creme Brulee, but this sounds fantastic!

My favourite is mixed berries, vanilla yogurt, cut up banana, granola. Maybe some cinnamon. Its delicious.
