IPhone Screen Repair: How easy is it to replace your iPhone screen yourself?
Is it really possible to repair an iPhone screen yourself? We will take a look at the amount of technical knowledge you need to perform an iPhone screen repair.
It goes without saying that the most common problem iPhone users experience is a cracked screen. Since iPhones are quite a delicate piece of technology and the fact that the touch screen is made of glass, it is likely that if they are dropped, the iPhone screen will break. Then what do you do? Search eBay for a replacement screen. If you are looking for an iphone screen repair in Sydney, you may visit http://www.iexperts.com.au/iphone-repairs-sydney/.
Thanks to my extensive experience in iPhone screen repair and replacement, I can say that the tools sold on eBay are practically useless. The tools that are required are a Phillips screwdriver, razor blade or other shimming and scraping tool, tweezers, scissors, and double-sided tape or glue.
The first step is to turn off the phone and remove the SIM tray. Then, using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the iPhone. This will allow you to remove the back cover.
Some more screws and tapes need to be removed. The iPhone camera itself needs to be completely removed along with the speaker and microphone.
It is actually very simple to connect the new iPhone screen as it is just a ribbon that connects to the motherboard. However, it is extremely difficult to put all the pieces back in their correct places and more importantly to put the screens back in the correct places as they are of different sizes.
At this stage, a person without much technical knowledge is more likely to have damaged the motherboard tape or do not know how to put the iPhone back.
